The satin luminosity particular to Sennelier watercolors has its roots in the impressionist school. The luminous intensity of the Ile de France influenced the creation of the range, participating in what is called "French watercolor". These extra-fine colors are still made on the same basis as at the end of the 19th century. The grinding of Sennelier watercolors is done in the traditional way with granite millstones that turn slowly so as not to heat the paste or alter the shades. All these rich, luminous and intense shades have an excellent resistance to light.
